Daryn and Nicole - Cabin Renovation

When Daryn and Nicole were looking to renovate their cabin, they knew they had to start with a drafter and designer that would help them put their vision on to paper.

“Doug’s straightforward communication style gave us confidence in our ability to work together to accomplish an extensive renovation. He set the initial meeting quickly and travelled to view and measure our property and to discuss our vision and ideas,” says Daryn. “Their attention to detail and guidance was invaluable.”

The project proved to have some intriguing challenges, as the roof trusses had to be fully reengineered to make changes to the ceiling. But, according to Daryn, the experts at CADvantage were able to present viable solutions that included improvements to the overall design and resulted in a lovely addition of a three-way glass fireplace.

“Their ability to capture and understand our vision also meant the addition of large windows to capture more light and our lake view,” says Daryn.

One of the single biggest challenges of any project is communication — Good communication helps to keep the project on track and allows adjustments to the original plan to happen smoothly.

“We appreciated the quick response to a variety of questions about building code and finishing products for the exterior. The team was able to stick handle small hiccups that kept construction moving and maintained good communication with our general contractor,” says Daryn. “We are very happy with the work that CADvantage did on our behalf.”

Above all else, Daryn says that they felt as though they were working with someone that took the time and made the effort to understand our vision.

“We have received numerous positive responses about the finished project and know that CADvantage was instrumental in having that project exceed our expectations,” says Daryn.
